Little Girl Solar Dress Pattern
I'm digging this simple free Solar Dress pattern. There's some great drawstring/strap detailing in the back and the simplicity of the sundress is a great way to use some crazy fabric (left) or fun embellishments like patch pockets (right). Plus, the pattern itself is so darn cute it's worth checking out just for that! It's unseasonably hot here in San Francisco, so I might just need to make one for myself.Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Kids | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |

The Musical Note Sweater
I recently came across the blog Handmade by Mother, in which Victoria Dunn posts up (and occasionally mocks) vintage patterns. In truth, I really just wanted to share this photo. The boy on the right looks like he's about to break the clarinet over his knee and go postal. I guess this is a reminder not to force your craft on someone. If you want to knit a musical notes sweater, that's fine. But putting it on an unwilling 9-year-old boy, complete with neck kerchief, lederhosen, knee socks, uncomfortable fancy shoes, and a clarinet, and documenting it for all perpetuity is not very nice.First Noel Sweater, McCall's Needlework & Crafts, 1983Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Knitting | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |
