Video Gallery: (Recent) Great Stop-Motion
There's been a truly impressive amount of stop-motion flying around the interwebs lately. I'm always awed by the amount of time and energy it takes to create something in this medium, not to mention the playful and often powerful effect of going frame-by-frame. Now that there's an abundance of stop-motion software, and even a new iPhone app, StopMotion Recorder, perhaps we can all contribute. In the meantime, here are some recent notables that caught my attention: Bowerbirds "In Our Talons" from Alan Poon on Vimeo.BIG BANG BIG BOOM - the new wall-painted animation by BLU from blu on Vimeo. And you'll have to forgive me for squeaking this one in, it's not stop-motion, but it is composed from stills! Getting to World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science
Nick Normal @ Make: Online writes: There are several ways to get to the 1st annual World Maker Faire this weekend in Queens, NYC. We're expecting overwhelming crowds to be traveling by subway, and wanted to provide some pictures to assist you on your trip. The recommended way of getting to the World Maker Faire at the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) is by the 7 subway train. We recommend the LOCAL train, which will be indicated by an illuminated circle (not diamond) around the number 7 on the sides of the trains. It takes only 25 minutes from Grand Central in Manhattan to get to the Faire. You'll want to exit at the 111 Street stop. You'll know you're getting near when you see the top of the Unisphere (the largest sculpture of the Earth on the planet!), the Rocket Park, and those awesome UFOs from the Men in Black movie off in the distance! He posted up a full guide to getting to the Faire by public transportation, including a photo walkthrough of the landmarks you'll see on your way.Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Maker Faire | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |

Yummy too - a creamsicle-like concoction of orange jello and a sweetened condensed milk based gelatin - so creamy and good!Yum, indeed!
