Colorbomb Fibers
At Maker Faire 2009 I had the pleasure of meeting Velma of COLORBOMB Creations. Velma is a colorful explosion of enthusiasm and fiber arts. She has a great etsy shop with amazing offerings, and yesterday on her blog VelmasWorld, she announced a new product, called SmorgasBombs. They will be launched at SOAR, the Spin-Off Autumn Retreat happening in Oregon next week. Not fair, cause I want to buy one right now!!!Packaged in plastic bags re-claimed from the Sock Summit dumpster, each SmorgasBOMB contains 4 ounces/115 grams of animal fiber. This batch may contain any/all of the following breeds: Babydoll Southdown, Cheviot, Coopworth, Cormo, Corriedale, Cotswold, CVM, Dorset, Lincoln, Merino, Mohair, Rambouillet, Romney, Targhee, Wensleydale.Read this article | Comment on this article

Stitch Lab Sewing Studio of South Austin
I was thrilled to see this beautiful feature on my crafty home base here in Austin, The Stitch Lab sewing studio. Apartment Therapy did a home tour of the studio and an interview with the fabulous studio owner, Leslie Bonnell,, and it's too awesome not to share. I feel lucky to teach hand embroidery at such an inviting and inspirational place, and even luckier to have such a rich resource for crafty classes to take myself (I spent last Friday night screen printing and stitching up some spectacular space geek tote bags). Chances are you have an equally awesome local craft studio in your town. Seek it out and support it! Read this article | Comment on this article

iPhone Cases From Magda Sayeg
My iPhone case is pretty beat up so I'm very tempted to get one of these with designs from Magda Sayeg of Knitta Please from Uncommon. There's also the option of uploading your own artwork, so you could customize your case with your own crafts! [via artyarn]Read this article | Comment on this article

How-To: Add Style to Your Storage
"A spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down." I love to reward myself for little successes, and that especially goes for cleaning, organizing, and other household chores. My prejudice against keeping things neat is simple: I want to skip the cleaning up and move straight to the next fun thing. I think that many people have the same issue. So I've resorted to treating myself with storage that is more stylish, more interesting, and, in turn, more fun. The trick is balancing the crafting with the cleaning. I worked this project with a 50/50 time ratio: 1 hour decorating then 1 hour getting my act together. I hope that my little labels and boxes inspire you, and I also would love to hear about your tricks for motivation in the comments, and see your own storage in the CRAFT Flickr pool!Read this article | Comment on this article
