Liz Hickok's Jellied Cities
My dad is a huge fan of Jell-o, and we'd always rolled our eyes a little about it, but clearly he's not the only one who sees its possibilities. Liz Hickok creates incredible jellied cityscapes, lit from below and true to scale, giving gritty city streets a fantastical, magical twist. While she mostly photographs her work in her studio, she does do temporary installations, like this one at the Exploratorium of Twin Peaks in San Francisco. DIY Lionel Richie Serving Tray
Yesterday I posted a photo of an awesome Lionel Richie Halloween pumpkin. Right after I posted it I thought, "Duh, Lish. You totally made a serving tray a long time ago using Lionel's 'Can't Slow Down' album jacket. You should totally post that." Well, here you go! To make this last minute for a party I hosted, I simply nailed down the record to a scrap piece of wood I had. I then took black electrical tape and taped all around the jacket. A quick coat of Mod Podge and super-glued drawer pulls (pretty sure I ran out of tiny nails) and I was all set. "Hello," favorite serving piece of all time.
