Recipe: Berry Pomegranate Smoothie
By Katie GoodmanI love smoothies for breakfast or afternoon snacks in the summer. They're cool and full of great fruity flavors. While I definitely enjoy going to the smoothie shop occasionally (they do have a super duper blender that purees much better than mine), it does get expensive, and smoothies are really simple to make at home. This is my take on a smoothie that our local smoothie shop makes. Packed with pomegranate juice and berries, it's definitely a healthy and refreshing treat. Greek yogurt adds a little bit of protein. If you'd like, add a half a banana as well, but it doesn't really need it.Download Recipe PDF(Right click to save PDF to your desktop. Having problems? Papercut Illustration of Volcanic Activity
Being a science and space geek, I'm particularly charmed by this awesome papercut illustration from Jayme McGowan of Roadside Projects. I had the pleasure of working with New Scientist magazine to create this image for an article about volcanic activity - specifically, how it can be triggered by meteorites.Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Ask CRAFT | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |
Elegant DIY Bedframe
Sean @ Make: Online writes: With the exception of my couch, every piece of furniture in my home is something I built, or heavily modified, myself. This is both a source of personal pride and a bit of a pain, because if I want more furniture for whatever purpose, I'm sort of obliged, at this point, to build instead of buying. My mattress has been on the floor for years, but lately I've been thinking it's time to commit to building a bedframe. Which is why this solid, minimalist, simple-tools design by Instructables user wholman caught my attention. It's an entry in their ongoing Woodworking Contest.More:Plywood Coffee Table on Make: ProjectsRead the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Home Decor | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |
Poketo for Target
Poketo is an innovator in artist-designed lifestyle wares and it's so cool to see their new collaboration, Poketo for Target featuring a new collection of some amazing totes, bags, wallets, umbrellas, and more! I first met Angie Myung and Ted Vadakan from Poketo many years ago while we were all traveling around in the craft fair circuit. The LA based duo started by creating limited-edition artist wallets which were like little pieces of art you could carry around with you. (I am happy to have one of them.) The first run of wallets were very successful, so Angie and Ted continued to make more with new artists each time. The Poketo for Target collection has been really successful and a lot of items sold out. The good news is that Target is restocking them as we speak so you can still shop for some of your favorites in store or online. Here are a few available Poketo goods: Poketo Birds flight bag ($29.99) and the Poketo Zig Zag Crossbody Hobo ($19.99) pictured at top. You can can see the list of all available Poketo goods on Target.com.Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Craft Business | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |
