It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere Parrot Head Fascinator Mary P. (Nebraska) made a fascinator for her mom and posted about it on her blog, Pretty Good Things. Her mom loves Jimmy Buffett, and she concocted this glittery desert island awesomeness for her to wear to the next Jimmy Buffett concert. Note: You learn something new every day: Parrot head is a commonly used nickname for a Jimmy Buffett fan.She explains the thought process behind her creation:I wanted this little guy to be a bit more demure (who doesn't like miniature?) yet still have some fun with kitsch, loads of glitter (who doesn't like a little glitz?) and generally, just keep it toned-down in size. The size thing is an issue of both comfort (foam, acrylic, or polyester based headgear just doesn't breathe, I don't care what you say) and consideration (no one wants that dude in front of them at a concert...everyone likes to see what is in front of them...right?) This fascinator is comfortable AND nice! how about that?Ha! Nancy's Slouchy Blouse Oooh! This slouchy blouse over on Burda Style so cute! i love the plaid, love the colorway, and love how flattering the cut is! This pattern was brought to my attention when BurdaStyle member hannnc made her own very pretty version. I love this fabric, but it's a huge pain to work with as it enjoys fraying. I used french seams to keep the fraying from being a problem. The buttons down the front are mismatched since I was working with materials I already had in my stash. When my friend was over I was joking about how I was making a fancy chef shirt since they are usually double breasted, but I'm actually happy with the result. It looks great tucked into jeans and is very comfortable due to it's slouchy nature. Etsy and NASA Space Craft Contest Etsy and NASA have joined forces to launch the Space Craft Contest. Etsy artists can submit works inspired by the NASA Space Program. (And if you don't have an Etsy shop, you can still enter. You just need to sign up for an Etsy account.) The Grand Prize winner will receive a $500 Etsy shopping spree, and an all-expenses-paid trip with a guest to attend the shuttle launch at Kennedy Space Center in Cocoa, Florida in February as NASA's VIP guests.
