Wedding Bazaar
Wedding Toppers from The Small ObjectI love these super-customized wedding toppers by Sarah Neuberger of The Small Object. She works with couples to choose all the things that are special to them (like their pets, or a fancy dress detail, or a superhero theme?) and creates these tiny, amazing pieces. Check out hundreds of photos of her commissions in her Wedding Toppers flickr set. The basic toppers start at $135, with some customizations extra.Sarah says, "I started making wedding toppers about a year ago thanks to customer requests and, I think in some small part, due to my deep love for old autograph verses. It's my version of "Yours til Niagara Falls" and "2 good 2 be 4 got 10." It's a remarkable honor to make something to mark the moment when you and me said it's us forever. I love that."Prost to the Host Tissue PomsI first saw these gorgeous 3D tissue poms made by Prost to the Host at this spring's Crafty Wonderland sale, and picked up a set of them for my daughter's birthday party, in her favorite colors! These would be beautiful wedding or shower decorations, and they're 100% recyclable after the party, too.You can buy a set of 3 poms for $13, or pick up a set of 10, in the colors of your choice, for $30 in their Etsy shop.Read this article | Comment on this article blog.craftzine.com |

Faux-Hawk Zebra Hat
I love this crocheted faux-hawk hat that Craftster user neosynthesis (Orange County) made for her co-worker's son, Andrew. He was going to a school with strict rules about attire and hair, but, as she says, he's "a little punk," so she made him a hat-hawk. I like the way the way the yarn stripes on the hat, and of course the mohawk is rad. But what I appreciate most about this project is circumventing a school rule that doesn't allow mohawks. How-To: Cardamom And Ginger Infused Vodka
As Jote of Bless Her Heart points out, infused liquors can be a perfect and unique holiday gift. Given the extra time required to fully steep the flavors, this is a project you can tackle now and cut one more thing off your list during the busy and hectic holiday season later. Her cardamom and ginger infused vodka seems exotic and very special to me. This is something I'm going to have to try.
