Diana Eng's Maker Faire Fashion Show Q&A
Photograph by See-ming LeeOne of the events we are looking forward to at World Maker Faire NY this weekend is Diana Eng's Technology Fashion Show, scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Great Hall. Naturally, Diana is incredibly busy getting ready to dazzle us, but she took a few minutes to share some insight with us. Can you give us a preview of what you have in store for the Diana Eng Technology Fashion Show? I am going to show a selection of my past designs (mostly from the Fairytale Fashion Collection) that have been reworked and styled into a cohesive show. This is the first time I have shown in such a large public venue so I am looking forward to this opportunity to share my designs with everyone. Auctions: At area auctions, buttons, clothes, American Indian crafts
Charles A. Whitaker's two-day auction next weekend at the New Hope Eagle Fire Company will be far more diversified than most vintage clothing sales, with artwork and antiques jostling with fall couture, such as an 1890s silk brocade ball gown by Catherine Donovan and a 1920s Fortuny Delphos gown with a presale estimate of $4,000 to $5,000. philly.com |
