Ellen and Kevin's Wedding
Ellen and Kevin got married last year on the summer solstice and just celebrated their first anniversary! (Congrats you two!) They had a very small budget, so creativity and DIY were key. I was extremely lucky that my soon-to-be mother-in-law offered to make my dress. Since our wedding would be fairly casual, I wanted a tea-length, simple dress. Funny enough, I found the pattern for my perfect dress in an unlikely category: this office dress! We ignored the jacket and lengthened the hem to fall at the calf, and I chose a mauve silky fabric with a lace overlay. We had tons of leftover fabric, so I made a matching tie for my groom - I even added the lacy layer for the facing and the loop label.Read this article | Comment on this article blog.craftzine.com |
How To: Quick Kimchi Recipe
I love being part of a CSA; while the box is usually packed full of my favorite fruits and veggies, there's always something in there that I have no idea what to do with. Fortunately, the farmers include a handy recipe sheet each week. Last week there was a lovely Napa cabbage, and an easy recipe for quick kimchi. I've never had kimchi before, which is a fermented cabbage dish from Korea, but it's delicious. Try adding it to scrambled eggs for a spicy breakfast treat! (Recipe and more photos after the jump.)Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Food | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |

Taking inspiration from the fashion runways, pop culture, photography, and design - all the projects are presented visually with simple directions just like Erica has been doing on her very popular P.S. - I Made This web site. This prop stylist brings her styling know-how to all her projects. My favorite is her signature mood board images that is shown before each project. It just great eye candy and ties together the theme. Each project has simple step-by-step photos with arrows and handwritten notes that tell you what to do. Some of the projects are so simple and stylish you could make them in less than an hour and be off on your way all dressed up!
