How-To: Peplum Skirt from Curtain Panel
Erica of P.S. - I made this... gets some inspiration from Mad Men's Joan and the latest dresses from the runway with her peplum skirt made from a curtain panel. Yes, it's a curtain panel people! No Scarlett O'Hara look here. The final result is a stylish skirt that's perfect for any occasion. (As an aside, the new season of Mad Men is so good, no?)Read the Full Story » | More on CRAFT » | Comments » | Read more articles in Fashion | Digg this! blog.craftzine.com |
Monster Art Tote
How adorable is this monster art tote from Craftster user, sadsilver. The lined tote bags are very simple, made from fabric from my stash. The monsters are made with polar fleece and eco felt. I stuffed each tote with a sketchbook and the monster teeth are made of six mini twistable crayons. She made them as gifts for friends, and they'd also be great for back to school fun for little kiddos! Space Shuttle Birthday Cake
I'm pretty sure I need this same cake for my next birthday. The rad shuttle cake is the work of Aimee of High Chair. I love the use of ice cream cones for engines, and the addition of sparklers for some "fire" action is just brilliant. What fun! Thanks, Megan! Super Mario Retro Room
Nathan Roberts wrote a great step-by-step on how he revamped a plain bedroom into something special for his son. And I dare say with the pixelated retro Super Mario theme, this might appeal to some older "kids" in our audience as well.Nathan says about his process:Not long ago I decided I really needed to up the cool factor to my son's bedroom. He is getting older and I wanted to be sure to instill some cool geek culture into him early on. He has always loved Mario so we decided that would be a good theme to go on. I had seen the wall clings but they just didn't quite fit what I was looking for. We needed something bigger that tied in more of the room. I finally stumbled on the idea of just painting it right on the walls. ... In the end, he loves it (and my daughter is totally jealous) and that's all that really matters.Nice job, Daddy Roberts!
